The United States Supreme Court.
The highest judicial institution of a federated nation, the United States Supreme Court was designed as a political organ. The Court only examines those cases which enable it to fulfill its mission (to ensure the supremacy of federal law, to clarify this and to adapt it to the needs of today's society). To this end, it carries out a very draconian selection from the cases referred to it. The decisions handed down are often accompanied by «concurring opinions» or «dissents » of great importance, in particular for legal development.
